LA London Architects is committed to promoting ethical, sustainable, and responsible sourcing practices through the architectural materials, products, and suppliers we specify in our work. As an architectural practice, we recognise our influence in shaping supply chains and are dedicated to upholding high standards in labour rights, environmental responsibility, and social equity.
We firmly oppose the exploitation of child labour and will not knowingly specify or recommend materials, products, or systems from manufacturers who do not fully comply with applicable labour, safety, and human rights laws in their respective countries. We are equally opposed to the exploitation of workers of any age and aim to avoid endorsing sources where conditions fall below acceptable standards—particularly in relation to hygiene, health and safety, and workplace fairness, while being mindful of local conditions and contexts.
Wherever possible, LA London Architects seek written assurance from product manufacturers or suppliers that their operations comply with our Ethical Specification and Procurement Policy. We actively support fair working conditions and equitable compensation, and we advocate for the protection of workers’ rights throughout the supply chain.
To uphold this commitment, LA London Architects take all reasonable and practical steps to understand the practices of those whose products we specify. This may include:
If we become aware of unethical or unsafe practices connected to a specified product or supplier, we will act swiftly to investigate the matter, seek resolution, and, where necessary, amend or withdraw our specification or recommendation.
We reserve the right to revise or remove any supplier or product from consideration if a significant breach of this policy is discovered.
LA London Architects upholds the principles of universal human rights, in line with Article 55 of the United Nations Charter (Chapter IX), which affirms the equal rights and fundamental freedoms of all individuals regardless of race, sex, language, or religion.
The purpose of this policy is to support ethical and environmentally responsible decision-making in the design and specification processes, contributing to higher standards across the built environment and within the supply chains we influence on behalf of our clients.
This policy will be reviewed every 12 months or in response to significant changes in legislation, company operations, or social/environmental considerations. Next review September 10, 2026
